Queer Action on LGT Liberation Day March in Barcelona - 2 July

On the LGT (Lesbian, Gay and Trans) Liberation Day march in Barcelona on the 2nd of July 2005 a group of queer activist (anarchists and socialists) took to the street their bodies, banners, and chants sending out a clear message against state repression, capitalism, and discrimination. The March in Barcelona is different than any other one around the world. It is the mainstream one, yet it is a political march where no corporations or pink-euro crowds are welcomed. Corporations trying to join the march were booed out few years ago. It is a political manifestation for rights and celebration! The music was upbeat, the atmosphere pleasant, and yes, the gay and lesbian tourists all left ot Madrid to wiggle their asses under the corporate sponsorship on floats that violate every essence on this planet from homosexuals, to heterosexuals to the environment, to the animals! And was it a ball without them!

San Francisco: Lebanon and Gaza Emergency Response Demo

On Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 5 pm a demonstration took place to protest the latest Israeli atrocities committed in Qana, Lebanon which killed more than 60 civilians including 37 children as they slept in a bomb shelter. Hundreds of protestors met at the San Francisco Federal Building for a rally and then marched through the Tenderloin, down Market Street to Powell Street for another spriited rally. The demonstration was called by the American Arab Anti Discrimination Committee - San Francisco.
