Khiam Rehabilitation Center for Victims Of Torture appealed not to spot the reputation of Lebanon and deform his cultural face by executing the capital punishment. The center called up on for replacing this punishment by life sentences because a crime should not be faced with a more violent crime. Executing the capital punishment will not deter crimes, which grows in sectarian communities and in the absence of the educational and social programs.


The center considered that Saturday, 17/01/2004 will be a black day in the history of Lebanon because the capital punishment that the Lebanese government is executing against Ahmed Mansour, Badie Hemadeh and Remie Zaatar is nothing but a violation for the human dignity and the man’s right to live, add to that it will not bring the victims back to life but it will have it’s own victims and will open new injuries in the Lebanese body.

Capital punishment is an inhumane horrible and outrageous act,

Stop its execution,

Stop torture,

Stop murder.
